Hello, I'm Susan. I've been playing tennis for 20 years now and I love to shop for tennis equipment and clothing. That's why I've created this special page within the site so you can check out other people's reviews & recommendations of cute tennis shorts.

If you want to be more original and add some flair you are going to have to look at other brands. As long as your tennis shorts are made of soft, athletic, stretchy material, it does not matter if you purchase shorts that are not designed for tennis to use on the court.

Tennis shorts come in a variety of colors. Just as fashion has evolved over the years so have the tennis shorts. I do still think that fashion in tennis has a ways to go. Luckily there are players like Serena Williams who are not afraid to be unique.

Here are some ideas for tennis shorts that you should consider if you think your tennis wardrobe needs improvement. Your tennis equipment should not be the only thing that contains bright colors. Don't be afraid to wear a bright orange pair of tennis shorts that match your grip tape. Bright colors are making a comeback. No matter your sex, you could look great with bright lime green or bright orange pair of tennis shorts.

Also consider a basic grey pair of tennis shorts for your collection as they will usually go with any tennis shirt you could have. Different shades of grey are becoming very popular for this very reason. Grey shirts with a small stripe or triangle on the sides that act as stripes will draw attention to the smaller portion and make the color seem more vibrant. Tennis Equipment History. The Evolution Of the Tennis Racquet

Just like everything else is in life, tennis equipment has changed very significantly in the last 30 years. Tennis balls are different with better aero dynamic properties and the clothing looks nothing the it did way back in the day. Then there is the most significant change in tennis equipment, the tennis racquet.

The first racquet in 1874 was promoted by Major Wingfield in London. Since it's creation in 1874 it remained unchanged for the next 100 years. Metal racquets were in existence before the nineteen sixties, they just were not very common at all. Metal racquets made their first surge in popularity in the 1960s when professional tennis player Jimmy Connors decided to use them on the pro circuit.

From that day on the equipment made a massive surge in technological production and innovation. The first thing to change was the size of the tennis racquet head itself. The head of the mid 1970s was twice the size of the traditional wooden racquets. This innovation made the players power shots that much stronger. It also made it much easier for amateurs to play and enjoy the game with his better easier to hit tennis equipment.

The next thing to hit the market were the graphite racquets which gave the strength of the metal racquets but retaining the lightweight frame for maximum swing speeds. Today the racquets have become even lighter with the introduction of metals such as kevlar, ceramics, and titanium. The lightweight frames make for shorter back swings and a faster flick shot. This added to the huge head size increases the sweet spot of the racquet to allow more room for error.

The new tennis equipment also brings about anew style of tennis, which is faster and more of a power game. Many people have wanted to revert the game back to the wooden racquet format because they believe the increase in repitative strain injuries and tennis elbow is a direct cause of the new tennis racquet equipment.

There are still supporters of wooden tennis racquet leagues. One such supporter is none other then John McEnroe. Supporters believe the return of wooden racquets would bring a higher level technique to the game.
